In 1949, Mr. Kihachiro Onitsuka started out his athletic footwear company (Onitsuka Co., Ltd.) by constructing basketball shoes out of his living room in Kobe, Japan. He chose the name ASICS for his company in 1977, based on a widely known and esteemed Latin phrase “Anima Sana In Corpore Sano,” which, when translated, expresses the ancient idealisti of “A Sound Mind in a Sound Body.” Taking the acronym of this phrase, ASICS was founded on the faith that the best way to formulate a healthful and happy modus vivendi is to promote total health and fitness. Today, ASICS offers a full line of performance-driven athletic shoes and technical active sports apparel and accessaries committed to bringing concord to the body and soul.

For fantastic stability and comfort, look no further than the Asics Women’s Gel-Foundation 10 Running Shoe. Its DuoMax dual-density midsole system supports your stride and helps guard versus overpronation (foot rolling inward); GEL cushioning in the rearfoot and forefoot absorbs shock for soft-feeling steps. The lasting Durasponge outsole provides heightened underfoot cushioning, and two layers of memory foam in the P.H.F collar formulate a customized fit. The ComforDry sockliner helps publicize a healthy, odor-free foot environment.

3Super light but broke in and broke down too fast.
By Honest Consumer
I’ll buy these again just to get away from the weight of previous versions,
but the support breaks down after about 3 months of 4 mile a day running.
I suppose that would go for any running shoe. I hate pink and wonder why
they didn’t offer any other less “girly” colors. Hoping for a dark blue
choice in the 11 model! Fit well and ran well. No problems there.

5Wide width and it’s something besides white!
By VirtualValerie
Suffering as a child at the Stride Rite store..”no, we don’t have the black velvet mary jane shoes with the flowers on it in her size, but here’s some brown lace ups that will fit”. When you grow up with a wide foot and a high instep you normally are resigned to be happy to just find ANYTHING that fits. You compensate with cute socks. I was really tired of compensating. I wanted a running shoe that wasn’t all white, with a big N on the side of it. I ordered these with the thought that I would probably have to return them. I generally wear a size 8 but I ordered a 8.5 2E. When I opened the box I was saddened to think of them not fitting because they looked like what I have wanted for so long. I tried them on, and was ecstatic. My toes could move. Nothing was squished, the shoes were light, and they look so cool. The 8.5 fit perfectly with socks. There is very good cushioning as I walk. I haven’t run in them yet so I can’t review them on that merit. I’m giving them 5 stars for the fit and finish.

3Not ideal shoe for plantar fasciitis…
By minky4
I had really high hopes for this Asics running shoe. I’ve owned several pairs from this line in the past and had nothing but good experiences. This particular shoe greatly disappointed. I sized up a whole size (based on reviews and to allow for foot swelling during running) and it still felt like my foot was suffocating inside the shoe. The shoe features inner stability for overpronation but this only proved to cause me additional pain in my foot that suffers from Plantar Fasciitis, even with my insert. I am leaving a 3 star review because I feel like my particular situation with PF doesn’t allow for a completely unbiased review. Someone with no foot problems may love the fit and stabilizers. For me, it was a grand fail.
