Euro Hikers No Longer a great shoe
By I. Green
I’ve been a fan of the Euro Hiker for a heap of years. In fact they had been my choice of shoe for a heap of travels allround the world. Unfortunately not long back Timberland has changed the design of the shoe….for the worse. The old pair I’m wearing right now have a bellows tongue which serves to keep scree, gravel, and such from without apparent effort getting into the boot. Timberland has not so long ago decisive to remove that feature so now hiking/walking down any lose packed trail will result in rocks in your shoes. Its a shame…the Euro Hike employed to be an awful boot.

Design change ruins boot integrity; no tongue gusset
By Ellen S. Driscoll
I was deeply disappointed to discover they had done away with the tongue gusset, as you say, which so compromises the wearability of the boot. The tongue is likewise narrower than before which REALLY begs for a bellows gusset. Upon original discovering this absent gusset I wrote the company’s counterfeit section and sent them the new boots, made in Viet Nam, different from my old beloved 15 year old pair (with the gusset) made in China, suspecting they were now being made improperly, only to discover it was in truth a design change! I would steer away any person from attempting this new poorly constructed boot which used to be so wonderful. Now rocks, grit water and cold air may effortlessly get into the boot, the tongue slides side to side… Stupid fools at Timberland!!!
